Frankenstein 4: Lost Souls by Dean Koontz Now Available

Just released is the fourth installment of Dean Koontz's Frankenstein, (Book 4) Lost Souls, an updated revisiting of the classic tale of modern science gone wrong first penned in 1820 by Mary Shelley in England, and as told by the prolific Koontz who has published over 100 books in 40 years.

The first installment Book 1 (Prodigal Son) has the modern day monster, called "Deucalion", transplanted to the Las Vegas of the Deep South, New Orleans. Set in the politically correct era of the new millennium, Deucalion teams with a Detective Policewoman and her partner to track a new monster created by Dr. Victor Frankenstein (now operating under the name Victor Helios) through the familiar scenery of the French Quarter. The electrification process which created the original monster 200 years ago has given him and his creator near immortality.

It remains to be seen if what happens in New Orleans stays in New Orleans.

Frankenstein: City of Night [book 2]
Co-Author: Ed Gorman
Frankenstein, Book 2 - City of Night :  They are stronger, heal better, and think faster than any humans ever created-and they must be destroyed. But not even Victor Helios-once Frankenstein-can stop the engineered killers he has set loose on a reign of terror through modern-day New Orleans. Now the only hope rests in a one-time "monster" and his all-too-human partners, Detectives Carson O'Connor and Michael Maddison. Deucalion's centuries-old history began as Victor's first and failed attempt to build the perfect human, and it is fated to end in the ultimate confrontation between a damned creature and his mad creator. But first Deucalion must destroy a monstrosity not even Victor's malignant mind could have imagined-an indestructible entity that steps out of humankind's collective nightmare with one purpose: to replace us.
Frankenstein: Dead and Alive [book 3]

Dead and Alive The monster, Deucalion, is becoming human...and the doctor, Victor Helios, is becoming the monster.

Frankenstein: Lost Souls [Book 4]

[Due in stores, May 25, 2010, Bantam] Lost Souls: Having worn thin the New Orleans locale, Lost Souls picks up the action two years later with the characters settling into new lives in Montana. A new villain, who makes the original Victor Frankenstein look tame by comparison, arrives on the scene, and the Old West rides again as the creator gone bad and his avenging progeny battle each other in Big Sky Country.
